Every spring, the Netherlands is the perfect destination for flower enthusiasts, from mid-March to mid-May. From crocuses and daffodils in March to hyacinths and tulips in April, and then to summer blooms of gladioli, dahlias, carnations, and asters, from spring to early summer, there are flowers in abundance everywhere. Flower lovers shouldn’t miss out on these two months of prime viewing!
For those wanting to admire the most famous tulips in the Netherlands, Keukenhof is definitely the best choice! Keukenhof is acclaimed as the king of European gardens, boasting the world’s largest and most beautiful tulip garden, making it an ideal destination for a romantic floral paradise! Moreover, Keukenhof is a landmark attraction in Lisse, the Netherlands, so it’s a must-visit when in the Netherlands! Spanning 33 hectares, Keukenhof features over 800 different varieties totaling 7 million flowers.
In addition to tulips, there are also daffodils, hyacinths, lilies, and more. Every year, over one million visitors from different countries and cultures gather at Keukenhof Tulip Garden to enjoy the Dutch national flower together.
Keukenhof Garden has a different theme each year, showcasing various floral decorations, activities, artworks, and events. The themes for 2020 and 2021 were “Colorful World,” but both were canceled due to the pandemic. The theme for 2022 was “Flower Classics.” In 2023, Keukenhof decided to try multiple themes. The theme for Keukenhof Garden in 2024 is “Organic Farm.” It can be foreseen that the flower exhibitions and inspirational gardens will be even more colorful and diverse. Please stay tuned for this exciting event!
This year, Keukenhof’s open days start from March 21st and last until May 12th. Typically, the tulip garden is open for 60 days each year. However, in 2024, Keukenhof Garden will only be open for 53 days. If you want to see the tulips and enjoy a delightful spring, be sure to make the most of your time this year!
