Fête de la Fraise
Every year, the village of Boissy celebrates the delicious strawberry in grand style. Visitors flock from all over to taste strawberries, shop at the fruit market, and participate in cooking workshops where chefs provide tips on how to make the most of this delectable sweet fruit. The highlight of this grand event must be witnessing all the bakers and pastry chefs in town come together to make a gigantic strawberry pie—measuring 8 meters in diameter and made with 800 kilograms of fruit.

Fête de la Truffe
Dedicated entirely to the earthy truffle, this festival takes place every mid-January in the picturesque town of Sarlat. Highlights of the event include cooking workshops, truffle hunting demonstrations, and a large market where you can meet growers and purchase truffles or truffle products. Many chefs from restaurants throughout Sarlat also offer cooking demonstrations, showing you the best ways to prepare truffles and other local delicacies.

Fête de l’Oignon Rose
The charming coastal town of Roscoff hosts a two-day festival every summer to celebrate its famous pink onions. The local onions created a major trade route from the town to much of Britain, eventually giving rise to hundreds of “Onion Johnnies” with their Gauloise cigarettes, berets, and bicycles adorned with strings of onions. The festival takes place along the waterfront and features stalls selling a wide variety of onion-flavored products, from pies and sausages to chutneys and even beer.
